Who knew corn ruled the world.. And I, too, have been taking advantage of the mild weather (as have the weeds..): http://newlywedandunemployed.blogspot.com/2010/02/early-spring-headstart-on-yard-work.html We repurposed an iris bed made with cinder blocks to build four small garden beds for a hamburger/salsa garden. The cinder blocks will hold heat better than wood to insulate plants roots and the gaps in the cinder blocks will be planted with herbs and marigolds (they keep away pests).
