PotteryPrint Update #1: Ponoko Partnership + Campaign Update

by Cameron Schaefer on March 18, 2012

Hey friends, below is a quick update on PotteryPrint, the project I mentioned last week.  If you haven’t back us yet we could really use your help.  Even a small donation would be greatly appreciated and help turn this idea into a reality.

We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Ponoko, one of the world’s leading 3D printing companies, to do the actual fabrication of the pottery pieces developed within PotteryPrint.  In doing so, we will be able to connect our app to their high-quality order and delivery system, making the entire process incredibly simple and painless.  Ponoko is developing an awesome portfolio of ‘making apps‘ and we are very excited for PotteryPrint to be one of them.

However, in order for everything to come together we need to make up some ground on our Kickstarter campaign.  We currently stand at 24% funded ($2,950) with 16 days to go.  While we still have a couple weeks to make this happen, there’s no doubt that pledges need to pick up and in a hurry.

One of the biggest challenges of a Kickstarter campaign is getting word out to the people who would most benefit from the project - parents of young children who want to see high-quality educational apps available for their kids rather than just another mindless game, elementary/middle school art or science teachers, 3D printing enthusiasts, etc.

This is an area in which we would greatly appreciate your help.  Let’s make sure the word about PotteryPrint gets to the right people.  Here’s the shortlink to our page that you can copy and paste into an e-mail, tweet or FB post: goo.gl/D5FgV

Please let us know if you have any questions or just want to chat about the project.
